Internet Society
Internet Society (ISOC) is a global organization motivated by the pursuit of a simple cause: maintaining an open and transparent Internet defined by its users. Beyond collaborating on technological advances, ISOC works to ensure that the Internet continues to grow and evolve as a platform for innovation, economic development and social progress for people around the world.
ISOC is globally recognized as the independent source and authority for Internet-related policies, technology standards and future development. Supported by more than 100,000 members in 129 chapters across the world, ISOC is contributing to the evolution of the Internet by leveraging its expertise in policy, technology and communications.
ISOC Québec
Since its founding in 2000 as the Québec section of the Internet Society, ISOC Québec has taken on the task of maintaining an open and transparent Internet and is actively involved in promoting Internet development and appropriation as well as related technologies and services, both by Quebecers and by all users throughout the world.
With over 700 members across and outside the province, ISOC Québec is committed to upholding the principle of universality, including an appropriate geographical distribution of access points coupled with an equitable and adequate pricing structure, along with the appropriation of Internet by its users, through learning and developing the mastery of related tools and services.

Our Mission
ISOC Québec‘s mission, as ISOC‘s mission, is to promote the development, evolution and use of the Internet for the benefit of all individuals throughout the world. In Québec, our organization is specifically working to improve connectivity and the development of innovative services, content and uses of the Internet, while supporting and equipping Quebec society as a whole to capture and take advantage of the numerous opportunities offered by the Internet and related digital technologies.
