On June 27, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced that Montreal has been chosen as the venue for the 66th ICANN Public Meeting for the North American Region. The meeting will be held November 2-8, 2019 at the Laboratoire de cyberjustice de Montréal.
ICANN holds three public meetings each calendar year, in different regions of the world. They are a core principle of ICANN’s multi-stakeholder model as they allow to advance policy development, advocacy, exchange of best practices, trade agreements, learn more about ICANN and interact with other members of the ICANN community, the Board of Directors and the organization itself.
These meetings usually include more than 400 panels and parallel workshops, and provide an opportunity for individuals and representatives of ICANN’s various stakeholder groups to meet to present and discuss ICANN policy issues.
Participants can attend in person or at a distance. Meetings are open to everyone and registration is free of charge.
